General
Projection completes National Conservation Training Center Auditorium
for Fish and Wildlife Service

General
Projection has completed the audio visual and video conferencing
upgrade to the Byrd Auditorium at the U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Service's National Conservation Training Center
in West Virginia. This upgrade included a complete, HD-SDI solution
including conversion to HD-SDI from numerous formats (e.g. VGA,
DVI, s-video, HDMI, etc.) and a centralized routing system by QuStream
(fka Pesa Switching Systems).
Complete
control is exerted from large Crestron
touch panels both in the custom Vansan
lectern as well as in the control room.
A Vista
Spyder processor pulls all of the information together into
a multi-window QHDTV output feeding a Sony
SRX-R110 "4K" (4096x2160 pixels!) projection system
to fill the large screen with over 10,000 lumens of brightness.

Projection Vice President Cheryl Walker states, "We are so
proud to be involved with this facility upgrade. We upgraded every
inch of the auditorium including new acoustical panels carefully
matched to the beautiful aesthetics of the room. It has been a real
success story for all involved."

Joint
Chiefs use system built by General Projection Systems to brief press
on satellite interception.

Today,
Gen. James E. Cartwright, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
briefed the press using an audio-visual briefing system designed
and built by General Projection Systems. This briefing was regarding
the successful launch of an interceptor missile from the USS Lake
Erie in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and the destruction of an
errant spy satellite reentering earth's atmosphere.
General
Projection is proud of the work done for the Pentagon in the design
and integration of the Secretary of Defense's Press Briefing Facility.

Pentagon
hires General Projection to design and build Major General Higgins
new video conferencing facility

Projection Systems announced today that it has been awarded a contract
to design and integrate a large VTC facility for US Army Major General
George A. Higgins (recently the commander of the 2d Infantry Division
in Korea).
The
facility will provide for secure and non-secure video conferencing
to support's MG Higgins new role at the Pentagon.

US
Army retains General Projection to design and build multiple AV
and Video Conferencing Facilities at Ft. Belvoir
(release
date 3/30/07)
The
U.S. Army's Program Executive Office (PEO) for Soldier Equipment
has retained General Projection Systems to upgrade the commanding
general's video conferencing suite along with a number of other
VTC and AV facilities within the command.
"Charged
with the design and implementation of new equipment for the warfighter,
General Projection is very proud of this new association with PEO
Soldier Equipment", said General Projection president Drake
Wayson. "The PEO Soldier Equipment is the Army Material Command's
primary driver when it comes to outfitting our warfighters with
the best. After our work with the Army Research Labs up the road
in Adelphi, Maryland and the Aberdeen Proving Ground, this support
for high-tech communications at Ft. Belvoir makes perfect sense."

Department
of Agriculture hires General Projection to engineer and rebuild
AV systems at Begich Boggs Visitor Center, Chugach National Forest,
Alaska
(release
date 2/26/07)
General
Projection announced today the successful completion of the various
upgrades to the Begich Boggs Visitor Center in the Chugach National
Forest deep in the heart of Alaska.
Built
on the remnants of a terminal moraine left by Portage Glacier, the
visitor center houses exhibits and information regarding the wonders
of this national forest.
The
surreal view from the rear of the Visitor Center appears to be from
another planet but is just what remains of the glacier within Portage
Lake.

Projection is very proud of it's heritage in building and upgrading
Visitor Centers all over America" said Drake Wayson, president.
"Whether for the National Park Service, the Department of Agriculture
or Department of Interior, we have had so many wonderful success
stories in this unique niche of the AV industry."

and Human Services Video Wall

and Human Services selected General Projection to commence the upgrading
and maintenance of the video wall serving the Secretary for Health
and Human Services Command Center.

Marine
Corps retain General Projection for Central Command maintenance
contract

Projection announced today that the firm was selected by MacDill
AFB to provide the maintenance and upgrades as required for the
command center presence at Central Command of the Marine Corps.

General
Projection broke ground on it's new HQ facility to be located just
north of Orlando in Lake Mary, Florida.

nearly 20 years in the same location, we are very excited to be
moving not only into our own building but to enjoy the latest in
building technologies we so often envy our customers for!"

Projection puts finishing touches on new Command Center for Lockheed
Martin

Lockheed's
latest addition to their fantastic "Center
for Innovation" is the Command
Center which will be used by military and Homeland Defense/Security
customers to test bed numerous Lockheed products and capabilities.
As
part of the overall plan and the final major stage of this project,
the Command Center dominates the facility with huge projection screens,
numerous LCD displays and a multilevel control facility.

City of Syracuse, NY/Onondaga County Health Department select General
Projection as their implementation consultant for video conferencing
(release
date 3/16/06)
General
Projection Systems was selected to assist the City of Syracuse and
Onondaga County with the design and implementation of their video
conferencing networks for public safety and health.
Partially
funded by Federal and State Homeland Security grants, the city and
county are developing an extensive Metropolitan Medical Response
System (MMRS) part of which will be a large-scale video conferencing
system deployment.
Drake
Wayson, president of General Projection, is quoted as saying "We
are quite excited to have been selected for this position with the
city and county. Our firm will now assist this part of New York
state in terms of large-scale video networking both internal to
their organizations as well as to external partners nationwide."
The
primary vendors for this deployment will include Polycom
(video conference), Cisco (routers) and Codian (bridges).

U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Service hires General Projection to design and
build new training center
(release
date 6/14/05)
The
USFWS maintains a large training center campus in Shepherdstown,
WV for the training and education of natural resource managers.
The "National
Conservation Training Center" focuses on the common goal
of conserving fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats.
General
Projection has been retained by the Service to engineer and deploy
a "smart auditorium" system to enhance the training capabilities
of the center. "Training centers such as this one are a sort
of specialty for General Projection" says Cheryl Walker, Vice
President. "Facilities such as the new Vermont Army National
Guard's 21st Century Distance Learning Center, T.
Rowe Price's new campus facilities as well as the U.S.
Army's War College are some of the reasons we believe we were

Lockheed
Martin selects General Projection to design and build "Center
for Innovation"

After
interviewing numerous firms and reviewing each company's approach
to partnering with Lockheed Martin to create the spectacular "Center
for Innovation" in Suffolk, Virginia, Lockheed Martin selected
General Projection Systems.
"To
say we were excited to be selected for this prestigious role would
be a tremendous understatement" says Drake Wayson, president
of General Projection Systems. "We used what we consider to
be the best manufacturers in our industry (companies like Crestron,
Christie
Digital, Tandberg
and Clarity
Visual Systems) in our designs for Lockheed Martin to ensure

50,000 square foot facility is now Lockheed's primary and principal

Projection tapped to upgrade First Marine Expeditionary Force HQ
Commander's Conference Room

After
numerous successful projects at the USMC's Camp Pendleton (San Diego),
General Projection was once again selected to engineer and implement
the upgrades to the commander's conference facility for the I MEF
headquarters. This combination briefing and video conferencing facility
allows the I MEF command staff to communicate with USMC resources
throughout the world.
"The
I MEF is heavily engaged in Iraq and protecting the country's interests
around the world. General Projection is proud to be associated with
this command and to assist them through the improvement of visual
communications over their worldwide network" stated Cheryl
Walker, Vice President of General Projection.
Centered
on new video conferencing technology offered by Polycom,
General Projection designed the room to use the recently introduced
VSX-8000 codec.
This highly advanced codec allows for automatic transmission of
high-resolution computer images during a video conference. While
the users may route inputs to a variety of displays, the primary
screen is driven by a 4,000 lumen Sharp
projection system which allows for presentations of video and computer
images up to UXGA (1600x1200).

facility, to be located at Camp Pendleton, will be a nexus for USMC

Navy
Awards $5 million contract to General Projection for the new Pacific
Command HQ.

General
Projection today announced that the U.S. Navy (SPAWAR) has awarded
the firm a contract worth more than $5 million to build and maintain
the visual information, AV, video conferencing and command/control
facilities at the new, ultramodern PACOM headquarters building overlooking
Pearl Harbor at Camp Smith, Hawaii.

Uniquely
built into the side of a hill, visitors to the new 6 story command
center enter on the 3rd floor. When completed, the Pacific Command
HQ will be the most advanced command center in the world.
"We
are very excited about this project. With numerous video walls,
video-conferencing enabled conference rooms and a 'virtual' AV system
consisting of networked control systems and fiber optic links throughout,
this facility will be the most advanced of its type in the world."

Pendleton, California

Projection was again engaged by the Marine Corps to design and then
build a complete training auditorium solution for the Advanced Infantry
Training center at Camp Pendleton.

Freedom: President Bush briefed in GPS-built facility at Pentagon

date 3/26/03)
The
Pentagon
announced that the President and SecDef Rumsfeld were briefed
at the National Military Command Center in the Pentagon on the 25th
regarding the cost of the war with Iraq.

Projection designs Advanced Tactical Debriefing Systems for Air
National Guard

With
the need to perform "after mission" debriefs, the Air
National Guard hired General Projection to design and implement
a transportable/deployable debrief station. These stations allow
Air Force, Air National Guard, Navy and Army pilots to playback
and analyze cockpit video recordings with greater accuracy and ease
than ever before.
This
remarkable collection of products is integrated into a "Smart
Lectern" that can be quickly packed away into an ATA-rated
shipping case and taken with the fighter wing for debriefings in
the field.

FBI
hires General Projection for education system expansion.
(release
date 6/27/02)
With
their ongoing efforts to interdict terrorist activities, the FBI
is placing more emphasis than ever on research and training. To
the end, General Projection has been hired by the FBI to upgrade
and install a complex AV system for the Engineering Research Facility
at the FBI
Academy, Quantico, Virginia.
The
system will center on plasma and projection displays controlled
via an AMX
remote control system. Extron
interface and routing equipment will deliver the signals from multiple
computers and other sources to the displays and sound systems.

USAF
Tanker Airlift Control Center upgraded by General Projection
(release
date 5/20/02)
Working
with Prime Contractor and data partner, Cornet
Technologies (Anami Communications),
General Projection was selected to redesign and install the visual
information systems for the Tanker Airlift Control Center at Scott
AFB.
A KC-135 Stratotanker refuels a C-17 Globemaster over the Black
Sea during Afghanistan operations..
Described
as a "very busy place" the Tanker Airlift Control Center
runs the task of refueling bombers, fighters and supply planes all
over the world in general and over Afghanistan in particular.
The
large control center, reminiscent of a NASA "mission control"
type facility requires 24/7 command and control as well as the ability
to communicate with commands around the world. Our team installed
PictureTel video conferencing,
AMX Netlinx IP-based control and
revamped the large routing and source system already in place.
The
TACC is part of the Air Force's Air Mobility Command (which our
team also built).

Projection selected to supply plasma displays for the USNS Comfort
(release
date 1/28/02)
After
the attacks on the US in September, the Navy dispatched the hospital
and support ship USNS Comfort to Manhattan. This ship provided much
needed support to many people including the rescue workers at the
World Trade Center.
The USNS
Comfort sails into New York Harbor.
As
part of its ongoing program of modernization, the Navy has hired
General Projection to supply plasma display systems for this marvelous
ship. These Sony displays will allow personnel on ship to monitor

day the press anxiously awaits the latest news on the war against
terrorism from the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the
Joint Chiefs. Live, interactive briefing feeds are rapidly displayed

the press and the nation up-to-speed.

Projection selected to build major training command facilities.

DoD's Television-Audio Support Activity selected General Projection
Systems to engineer and install the Special Forces training facilities'

classrooms and centralized media system.

U.S. General Services
Administration awarded General Projection Systems a contract
to assist the U.S. Army in its development of VTC facilities.
The
first two facilities will be built in Alabama and Illinois. GenProj

Secretary
of Defense Rumsfeld briefs the press on the China incident using
newly installed General Projection briefing system.

Pentagon was able to more clearly demonstrate how Chinese pilots
routinely fly "near misses" to U.S. aircraft when Secretary
of Defense Rumsfeld used the Pentagon Press Room's new briefing
system for an interactive demonstration.

and conference facilities
nationwide

T.
Rowe Price, a leader in the worldwide market of investments, retirement
planning and mutual funds, again selected General Projection Systems
to design and build it's new Colorado corporate training campus
systems. These include smart classrooms, video conferencing facilities
and large-venue presentation centers.

the successful completion of T. Rowe's main Maryland facilities
outside of Baltimore, we were gratified to be retained again for
this technologically cutting edge campus in Colorado Springs"

Cheyenne
Mountain Complex
(release date 11/03/00)
The
U.S. Air Force selected General Projection to upgrade large screen
projection systems and control technology at the famous Cheyenne
Mountain Complex just outside of Colorado Springs. The project,
on a fast track, will allow for briefings and updates with vastly
brighter images and higher resolutions. Additionally, all functions
of the system will be at the "touch of a button" from
the Panja control system upgrade being implemented simultaneously.

GenProj
in the Orient...Korea and Okinawa

Projection will be assisting the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea in the
deployment of Sony DVCAM
systems for field and ENG applications as well as production systems
it was announced today.
General
Projection president Drake Wayson was quoted as saying: "We
are very thrilled to be working with the U.S. military and Sony's
DVCAM technology. The Army was one of the first to take advantage
of digital video technologies and we will be assisting them in their
standardization on DVCAM in the Korean theater of operations."
Sony
offers a very informative "streaming video" website
detailing the DVCAM product line and its applications.
With
large-scale projects in Korea and Okinawa now underway, General
Projection's presence in the Orient has become very strong. Says
Wayson: "General Projection has always taken a worldwide approach
to systems and network design; being in places such as Korea and

and Central America for our clients."

Baby...Yea! GenProj builds new facilities for the PGA Tour

Today
it was announced that the PGA Tour
had selected General Projection to build a number of new systems
for their headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida (just south
of Jacksonville) housed next to the famous Sawgrass
TPC Golf Course.
General
Projection has been working with the PGA Tour for more than two
years regarding a variety of AV and conferencing systems and projects.
Considered "Phase 1" for this facility upgrade, Genera
Projection will be building boardroom and press briefing facilities
for the PGA Tour.

General
Projection rebuilds Pentagon Press Room
(release date 07/26/00)
The
Pentagon awarded
General Projection a contract to rebuild the presentation and briefing
capabilities of the Pentagon Press
Room. This is the room where most Pentagon press briefings occur
and is commonly seen on TV when dignitaries and high-ranking officers
speak to the general public through the media.
The
system, now completed, was designed for maximum flexibility and,
through the use of large-screen plasma displays, to allow for the
distribution of visual information to everyone present during press
briefings and Q&A sessions.

The
Best in Boardrooms
(release date 08/1/00)
After
building StorageTek's
new boardroom system last year, the $2.3 billion company asked General
Projection to come back and upgrade the room's audio conferencing
capabilities.
Using
a combination of ASPI Digital's echo cancellation technology
and a Gentner phone line interface, General Projection was
able to create an audio conferencing system that is totally noise
and echo free and allows participants at the large, marble boardroom
table as well as "gallery" participants to be clearly
heard at the far end of any conference.

is Believing

General
Projection has been selected to design and build the latest facility
for eye surgery...The Center for Sight
in Sarasota, Florida. This facility will contain a variety of advanced
eye surgery facilities.
Each operating room will be associated with a sophisticated AV system
that will allow for archival recording of procedures as well as
complete presentation for patient guests.
General
Projection built the AV systems for the original Center for Sight
in Venice which has been a complete success. See our Medical

General Projection joins the Green Berets! 
(release date 03/01/00)
This
past Spring, General Projection put the finishing touches on the
new headquarters for the U.S. Army's Special Operations Command
at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. USASOC
runs the various special ops for the army which includes the Green
Beret and Rangers.
