Introduction General Projection was hired to design and build a sophisticated training system for the National Training Center of the Federal Aviation Authority in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This facility was to include numerous seats in several classrooms from which over 50 air traffic control students could learn their skills. Design Utilizing remote control technology from AMX, General Projection hardware and software engineers devised a system by which the instructors could view the "radar" screens of any student at any given time. Students that were having difficulty needed intervention from the instructor but the act of the instructor having to walk all the way to the individual student's station detracted from the process of teaching everyone.

High resolution projection equipment, Extron and Autopatch routing systems and high-end audio systems would serve to support the learning process as video tapes are played back, documents displayed for all to see or signals from individual student (and the instructor) stations can be displayed on the large screen system in any classroom. Success Students can now learn in a high-tech, fast-paced environment that closely matches the stresses and experiences they will have in a control tower. The technology is capable of a wide range of classroom activities including distance learning applications.
