Introduction

The Wyndham Hotel chain has grown substantially over the past decade. The crowning property thus far has been the integration of the massive Anatole hotel near downtown Dallas.

It was at this hotel that the Wyndham group decided to place its corporate HQ boardroom. The setting could not have been more appropriate.

General Projection was hired to design the company's multi media capabilities this new board room would sport. All of the latest presentation and conferencing systems capabilities would be required for the hotel group to effectively communicate within the organization as well as to large customers and vendors.

Design

Aside from the "givens" of today's board room such as video presentation capability, computer presentations and other forms of conferencing, this room required special aesthetic considerations. Of chief concern was the ability for General Projection to hide the projection system when not in use. Other technologies supporting the room were easily hidden in millwork and cabinetry or simply put away when the room was not in a presentation mode.

To meet the requirement to hide the projector in this situation, General Projection designed a portion of the ceiling to support a projector lift. The high-resolution, high-brightness Sony projector would be lifted from view when not in use.

A custom-designed AMX remote control system smoothly runs all of the sources and controls such in-room events and light dimming, screen and projector up/down and volume levels.

Success

The Wyndham companies' executives utilize the system for a variety of applications and are better informed and capable of controlling the fast moving firm through the use of presentation and conferencing technologies.
