Introduction The Heritage Foundation, a conservative "think tank" organization located in Virginia, provides a variety of information with respect to our nation's conservative heritage throughout its extensive facilities.
The Foundation asked General Projection to design and build the multi media capabilities to be located at this facility. Design The focus of the effort was the large auditorium which can be used for large screen presentation, interactive "town meetings" and video conferences. Taking the already impressive aesthetics into account, a "smart lectern" was designed to house the primary sources and control for the system. Sources such as VHS and computers are installed in racks in a control room adjacent to the auditorium.

An AMX touch panel system runs the entire project including light control, volume levels, on/off for the various pieces of equipment and the starting and stopping of a presentation.
Success The Foundation presents programs to thousands of people each month throughout the facility. The automated features are key in the success of the project due to the wide range of speakers and visitors the facility receives. The ability to perform a complex presentation by simply pressing a button that says "BEGIN PRESENTATION" provides an excellent means of assisting non-technical presenters with hosting a successful event.
